We at “ARKMIRA”, with its offices at Trivandrum & Pune are well experienced and competent to provide comprehensive design consultancy including structure and other building services.

Besides our proficiency to design, engineer and deliver buildings that manifest a vibrant architectural outlook and ensure client vision, satisfaction and success, we are equally committed to shaping the built environment around us, to create and promote livable spaces. Hence we are involved in many “self-initiated” Urban Design projects. We therefore believe we have more to offer.

Donn Thomas

Co-Founder and Principal Architect

A passionate Architect and Urban Designer, Donn Thomas graduated from T.K.M College of Engineering, Kerala in 2005 and started his career at Iyer & Mahesh, Trivandrum, where he was mostly involved in Hospitality Projects for International hotel brands. After his Post Graduation in Urban Design at School of Planning and Architecture-Delhi, he moved to Kuwait in 2008 and since then has been working with Internationally acclaimed multidisciplinary design firms and has been involved in delivering a varied range of Internationally noted mega scale projects at capacity of Project Architect, Project Manager and Client representative.

With more than sixteen years of experience, Ar. Donn has worked on various mixed use developments, Educational campuses & Universities, Hotels, High-rise Residential & Office towers, Zoo, Entertainment facilities, Shopping malls, Cinemas etc. Some among the notable projects delivered are College of Engineering & Petroleum & College of Science at Kuwait University Campus, Viva Baharia in Porto Arabia- Qatar, Shooting Ranges for Qatar National Guard -Qatar, New Doha Zoo- Qatar, Damac Aykon City- Dubai, Hyatt Regency- Kuwait, and AL-Khiran Outlet Mall -Kuwait.

Donn is currently heading the office at Trivandrum as the Principal Architect & Founding Partner of ARKMIRA.

Abhijit Kondhalkar

Co-Founder and Principal Architect

Trained as an Architect and Urban designer, Abhijit is an avid traveler, who loves architecture, cities, books, and cinema. After completing his masters in Urban Design from SPA, New Delhi (2008), Abhijit, practiced as an Urban Designer at Group SCE India Pvt. Ltd, and traveled to Africa and Middle East as part of his career. Throughout his career, he has worked in various capacities on major projects like preparation of Master Plans, City Development Plans, Public Space Design, Street Design, Multi-modal transport integration plans for Metros etc.

After gaining International experience, Abhijit established his own Urban Design practice under the banner of Shunya Studio, through which he has contributed much to the public space development & uplift of the streetscapes of the city of Pune, through many self-initiated projects. Some of the major projects he has delivered are the Urban Park at Tajai- Pune, Revival at Zero Stone Precinct- Pune, Public space at Salisbury park- Pune, City Development Plan for Tikamgarh, Dabra and Heritage city of Datia- Madhya Pradesh, Preparation of third generation, Urban Design Plan for cities Awbari, Brak, Ghat, Murzuq & Sabha Fezzan region – Libya.

Abhijit is currently heading the office at Pune as the Principal Architect & Founding Partner of ARKMIRA.
